And if you are one of them, I dedicate this <em>post<\/em> to you.<\/p>\n<h4>What is the meaning of <em>furoshiki?<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>For starters, and so you don&#8217;t get a Japanese look on your face, <strong><br \/>\n  <em>furoshiki<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong> is composed of <strong><br \/>\n  <em>furo<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong> (bath) and <strong><br \/>\n  <em>shiki<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong> (ceremony). Bathroom Ceremony? Bathroom for a ceremony? What does this have to do with gifts?<\/p>\n<p>Well, it all has to do with the <strong>Japanese<\/strong>, who as early as the 18th century had the <strong>custom<\/strong> of going to the public baths to wash themselves.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-31352 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/laudecotip.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/banos-publicos-japon.webp\" alt=\"public-bathrooms-japan\" width=\"1004\" height=\"564\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unhogaratumedida.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/banos-publicos-japon.webp 1004w, https:\/\/unhogaratumedida.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/banos-publicos-japon-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/unhogaratumedida.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/banos-publicos-japon-768x431.webp 768w, https:\/\/unhogaratumedida.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/banos-publicos-japon-600x337.webp 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1004px) 100vw, 1004px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The photo is not <em>fake<\/em>, it is real. And (aside from many questions that you may be thinking of right now) you may be wondering where the clothes were left. Well, I will tell you that they did not leave it in a closet or a locker as they do today, but wrapped it in a <strong>cloth<\/strong> cloth.<\/p>\n<p>And this way of packaging was called <strong><br \/>\n  <em>furoshiki<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>because it is the ceremonial they used to do before taking a bath.<\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s all coming together for you, huh?<\/p>\n<h4>But what is the <em>furoshiki<\/em> technique?<\/h4>\n<p>Over time, you can imagine that things have been evolving in every way (I hope). Using <strong>sustainable<\/strong> and reusable <strong>fabrics<\/strong>. Call them grabby, but I think it&#8217;s a super original custom and, besides, it looks great!<\/p>\n<h4>What type of fabric is used for <em>furoshiki<\/em>?<\/h4>\n<p>Depending on what you are going to <strong>give as a gift<\/strong> and what shape it has, you should choose one fabric or another. And keep in mind the size of it (yes, size matters too), if you don&#8217;t want to get a &#8220;rugu\u00f1o&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I could tell you that the ones they usually use are <strong>silk<\/strong>, <strong>cotton<\/strong> or <strong>polyester<\/strong>, but since I know you&#8217;re likely to grab the first thing you find around the house (which is fine with me) and you href=\"https:\/\/www.zarahome.com\/es\/\"><br \/>\n  <strong>Zara Home<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a>you scoundrel.<\/p>\n<h4>But what if the paper was also a gift?<\/h4>\n<p>You are more ingenious than the <strong>Japanese<\/strong>, eh?<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there is no better way to justify our problem with purchases than by saying that we will also give away the <strong>fabric<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Relax, it&#8217;s just to get into the role of <em>hater<\/em> (let&#8217;s remember that this article is for them).<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-4' class='gallery \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>The best non-consumerist option is to reuse a kitchen towel that you no longer use, an old pashmina or scarf, a fine bedspread, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you want to know how they wrap gifts in China or Japan?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They usually use <strong>red<\/strong> (bright), which for them symbolizes the <strong>holiday<\/strong>, although there are also many other colors.<\/p>\n<p>One color that will surely not be used is white, because for the Chinese, for example, it symbolizes death and mourning
